One night the videogame music-makers decided they've had it and went undercover. They bundled all their hatred and frustrations (damn those textured polygons, damn that 3D surround stereo sound) to do something they hadn't done in a long time: go berserk!
Some time went by and then appeared this third 12" release on Pleemobil, a tiny label from the town where I live, Kortrijk. It seemed like they've transfered all their anger onto these 4 tracks of experimental electronix.
Side A contains two crunchy IDM tracks with hypnotizing synths, not unlike the stuff from Planet Mu or rougher Rephlex productions. First track on side B is a heavy, distorted piece of hard-tek. Not really my cup of tea, will probably rock some dancefloors with open-minded audiences though. The closing track starts with industrial noise, slowly evolving to ambientish electronics with inventive cut-up sounds. An excellent ending to a nice release.
Offcourse the intro of this review is completely made up, but that's the picture I had when listening to this EP. UndaCova is just another guy, playing around with some tools on his PC and he's doing good things with it. This first real-life vinyl, after many mp3 only releases, is definitely worth a listen. Be sure to check out UndaCova's site too, lot's of experimental music available for download! Thanks
to Mush at Bliip / Pleemobil !!
