This is the debut release from an Italian producer, a 5 track EP with nice cardboard packaging and minimal artwork. The concept behind his work is to record in real-time and discard any and all studio trickery, which should preserve the improvisational feeling and leave the orginally intented feelings intact.
Five pieces of slow-mo ambient with a touch of electronica form a blueprint for the listener's mind, rather than hearing a totally "finished" product. I find myself endlessly humming the inventive melodies as the awkward atmosphere lingers on even after the music has stopped playing ...
The sound and structure is a bit similar to that of ISAN or even Pete Namlook at some places, but the tracks certainly have an original feel. Hopefully, with some productional and compositional improvements, this can turn out to be the beginning of many fine releases for Struttura.
