Mettle Music
Honeycomb Remixes
12" Toko 32 (2001)
The quality releases from Toko Productions have been enjoyed quite a bit within the Freestylegrooves ranks. Who could forget the ultra-deep masterpiece that was Attaboy's Busted Wagon? The smooth jazz-house from Weekender, or the spacey beats from Pat Barry?

And of course the Mettle Music project. They have a new album coming out called Honycomb Lounge. This 12" serves as a taster and features four special remixes from tracks off the album.

The Lowdown (Si Bradd Remix) is a mellow deep-house groove on the live-jazz tip. Funked up with sax and bass-guitar.
Catch Yourself (Aruba Remix) sounds like a mixture of old-skool NY house and atmospheric detroit-electro elements, updated to the 21st century.
Moodswings (Sean Dimitrie's Viagra Mix) starts off as really lacklustre repetitive tech-house. However by gradually adding more and more layers of disco-samples, strings, trumpets it's being transformed to a funky dancefloor smasher.
Tranquility 2001 (Ambient Mix) is nice lil' treat for the home-listening people. A beatless track that's to be situated somewhere between chill-out and balearic music featuring warm basses, soft percussion and gentle guitars ... thank god, carefully avoiding the ordinary "lounge" clichés.

As you can see, every remix has a totally different style, so it's very likely that at least one track will appeal to your taste.

Thanks to Nic Conef at Mettle Music!
