 75moods Rhodes Island Patt Recordings 2001

First of all: a big shout to the scene in Germany, specially in Berlin. Berlin was and is a capitol for electronic music in Europe such as London. There are many famous clubs, record stores and labels. 'THE' record store in berlin is Hardwax, respect to sacha at Hardwax. Years ago, lots of labels made their apearance in Berlin. Labels like Tresor, Superstition, etc. But there a lot of more labels down there like Patt Recordings. I got to know this label in 1997 in Antwerp at Wallys Groove World. There I found a record: 75 Moods with the mindblowing track VOX. After that I never found other tracks from this label. Like every month, I placed this record in my monthly chart. Now, a few years later, one of the artists of 75 Moods, Ralp Lock contacted me! He told me more about his label PATT, which he runs independantly and a lot of the labels history. He promised me to send one of his latest productions. So I was very anxious to hear the record. Now that I received the record and listened to It I couldn't resist to write something about it. There are 3 tracks on this Maxi: Side A: C.T. Rhodes mix A beautifull melodic housy track inspired by jazzy sound and funky vibes. Really a killer track. I've played it not so long ago at a local party and people where really shaking to it! Side B: weather 48 This track is inspirated from C.T. Rhodes mix, but nice reworked with a deeper base line! C.T. Dubmix This track also is an other mix of C.T. Rhodes and, like the title says, more dub-style! Conclusion: you really have to check this record, one of the coolest deep-house releases of the last months! Much respect to the people at PATT recorings!! Hope to visit you soon! Howard 28/03/2001 |
