M-Tec
Slip Wish+
1x CD Pitchcadet
Consider the recent outlets of Beige, Frank Martiniq, Toytronic, CIM_reference, and we've almost defined the sound M-Tec brings. People from around the world seem to recently gather around the synthesis of experimental electro, ambient & soundscapes. This time, this type of music comes from Canada on the Pitchcadet label. For those not really familiar with the kind of sounds we're talking about : Imagine fast tickles, scratches and noises, a harsch slow electro beat and a layer of ambient styled synth effects on top, and you're quite close to define the sound. As it is quite difficult to define a name on this type of music, we'll further refer to it as electro-chill.
Sometimes we wonder, has electro-chill really boomed in the year 2000, or is it just us focussing to find such releases ? It must without a doubt be a combination of both. In this respect, the M-Tec album is a quite nice addition to our growing music collection of electro-chill.
Oh, if you're a little into this music, do you also find it so difficult to extract one particular track of the album ? An album like those from Beige, Frank Martiniq, CIM_reference, Lackluster and thus also this M-Tec album are so much complete listening experiences. You just push the play button and let the waves of subtle noises fill your room and enjoy. Therefore, we'll not highlight any particular track on this album. Consider it an enjoyfull musical trip on the futuristic and progressive side. 2000 was definitely the year of electro-chill, we can only hope 2001 brings us even more creative and progressive material of this style.
