45dip
The acid lounge
1xCD Hed Kandi
45dip immediately got our attention on the already highly acclaimed Winter Chill compilation with "Searching for Marden Hill" which remains an absolute all-time killer track. And now, it's time for their first full album on the Hed Kandi label, the well-known sublabel of JazzFM records. It got the name of "The acid lounge" a name fitting
quite well the content of the album. 45dip brings a variety of UK jazzfunk sounds, ranging from delicate & smooth to hot, steamy and funky. "Auger in Orbit" and "Beer star" being examples of fat and funky jams and "Lizzie's balloon", "Parker Street Story" and "A man & a woman" being examples of the smooth side of 45dip.
Everything else is somewhat in between and at the same time far different. We can't help, but "Searching for Marden Hill" remains our preferred track. "Geisha Vampire" comes somewhat closer to housy dance style. "Bug juice" goes more into deepe houze direction. "Motorcity" and "Underwater" have a quite heavy accent on electric guitar sound but holds an overal warm jazzfunky sound. All in all, "The Acid Lounge" has interesting music to offer. Being not a cheap collection of easy tracks, but a nice varying musical creative outlet. Check it out.
