The British Pork label has always given us lounge music with a twist, surprising and refreshing stuff that has a way of its own. In the present times, where laidback music is becoming as mainstream as house or techno, a bit of an alternative is always welcome. Turning to Pork in those lonely chilly moments when you really need something that soothes your spirits is the right thing to do, I'd say.

Leggo Beast is half of the Bullitnuts. Don't feel ashamed if this sentence leaves you saying 'Uh ??" because it's completely irrelevant. What's relevant here is that this album once again confirmes the Pork marketing concept : good music and PR stands for Pork Recordings, nothing more - Perverse Rebels at most. The electronica that is offered here sounds like a genre on its own : between lounge and the latest in tonnes of decent eletronic stuff (see Metamatics, deFocus, ... ask our webmaster aka chillmaster for a exemplary list of some 37 good chill/electro releases this year). Complex beat patterns, metallic samples and creepy noises are accompanied by a hint of lyrics or flute solos. Wicked drums on 'unplugged', wicked vocals on 'dream topping' and wicked trumpet on 'step up' . It keeps you listening and not falling asleep like a lot of recent so-called 'jazzy stuff'. This organic electronic tapestry is woven with great creativity using threads of ambient and colors of acid-jazz. The resulting atmosphere is... extremely trippy.

Therefore, and for many more reasons (check the pork discography) I can pronounce, here and now and once and for all : pork is good for you.

And fuck vegetarians.
