![]() Pete Namlook & Move D Audio Lounge 1x CD FAX |
Admitted, Pete Namlook might have a little exagerated in the
past by releasing his tons of seemingly equal soundscapes. This resulted in the end in lots of unsold CD's in our music stores and
might have been a good reason for the fact that his newer releases are almost no more distributed in Belgium. That's too bad, because
2 recent discoveries, recordings of Pete Namlook in spring 2000, show a Pete Namlook clearly exploring variations on his ambientology. We
want to bring to your attention here, the "Audio Lounge" album which was recorded together with another unique artist Move D. Everyone of
you who knows Move D's Conjoint releases and the work of Pete Namlook,
should raise an eyebrow here and have a closer look at this new album as it features for sure marvellous tracks. First, "Audio Lounge"
moves away from the Pete Namlook soundscape style. It might be Move D who drops in here his subtle featherlight tranquil beats and blends
it together with an equally subtle mixture of jazz, electronica and ambient feel, here and there with sounds and textures vaguely reminding
to an early smooth Model 500 sound. As with any creative artist and certainly typical for the Pete Namlook approach, the tracks are
extremely slow and well worked out. The main tracks take respectively 16, 12 and almost 17 minutes, giving the artists plenty of time to
slowly build up from soundscapes to melodies and slowly fade out to soundscapes again, but we highly recommend to explore that for yourself. To be honest, I have never been disappointed with anything Move D touched from near or far and this album is no exception. David Moufang (alias Move D) is a master of the purest chillout vibes! ez/aug 2000 |
