Before exploring the details of the "Project Unison" album, we'd like
to say some words of thank to the Stereophonic shop in Antwerp where we not only got this album recommended but always find some hidden pearls of music delights. Ok, Metamatics and Clatterbox, formerly releasing on the Clear label have found a new outlet for their music creations on Neo Ouija. Already on the Clear label, they developed a very distinguished sound and this is not different for the new "Project Unison" album. The overall mood of the album delicately blends several sounds in a unique way. Here and there it has an electro feeling, on other tracks it is more the ambient feeling that dominates. On some tracks, a more minimalistic approach is used, on others experimentalism is key. What's important to this kind of album is the spirit of purity, creativity and originality and sometimes sentimentality it breeds. All this is brought in a package you can kindly enjoy during a lengthy chillout session. We especially like "How I missed you", "Jet Set" and "Cityscape" which should without a doubt grow to classics of the new millenium chillout music. ez/aug 2000 |
