"The perfect relaxation therapy crammed into merely 40 minutes of restful music and caputered on a single plastic disc for all eternity." hmmmmm, got a bit carried away there while thinking how I could describe the second Arovane album. The ultra-cold synthetic sound and complex beats of his first album Atol Scrap have been replaced by warmer, somewhat organic sounds and simple, relaxing breakbeats. In fact this is a very nice concept album about capturing the nightly atmosphere alongside abandoned coastlines. Although some pretty typical samples like the murmuring sea, the noise of seaguls and all that were used, things never sound cheap or out of date. The mixture of modest ambient, acoustic instruments and nature soundscapes make this set of tracks very enjoyable on a dusky summer-evening. Say Vegin |
