Arovane takes your mind to a cold, dark and desolate place where buildings exist solely of cold metal plates. Because of the ominious grey sky and the pouring raine all movement is wrapped in fuzzy shades.

To the none-attentive listener an album like this will appear to be just a jumble of weird, colourless sounds without a real objective. For those who do want to offer their full attention, take the time to listen to it a few times and give it a chance to grow. Eventually it will divulge the beautifull secrets burried underneath the dark grey surface. In this case the secrets are the inventive structures made of lingering melodies and distorted beats. The tracks are closely related so they can easily be viewed as one long claustrophobic soundscape that contains tons of never-heard-before sounds, strange noises and abstract musical structures.

This CD sure has it's weaker moments, but with the lack of real good ambient being released this still remains recommended to advanced chillers. Better not let this fall into the hands of depressive people though, as this music could very well bring up images of razor blades cutting trough pale skin instead of those desolate places I saw ...
