Flanger
Templates
1x CD NTone
This is the stuff for us experimental headz. The Templates album from Flanger is full of intimately packed sparse sounds creating an overall feel between ambient, jazz, electro and full experimental music. At first, one would think, that either the CD player or the CD is broken and sampling. It's full of little broken repeated sampling electronic sounds crispering and cnattering through your speakers. Bizarre for sure, but when listening more closely, these effects add dramatically to the overall intimate feeling of the album. On top of this experimental layer is trippy warm acoustic jazz melodies of rhodes, guitars, vibraphone. Here and there a subtle vocal inserts. To situate the album, one could say, it's the even more experimental and wilder version of the Conjoint album that we have been reviewing here as well. So, a sofa is definitely recommended for your listening experience. The album features 8 tracks and in real chilly outfit, almost all tracks over 6 minutes in length. This is the album you'll want to hear in its full glory and effect. Not a single track stands out, it's the overall feel of the album Flanger that must have its full impact on your mind. Excellent food for these after deephouze party moments !
