????????????????????????????????????? Sven van Hees ??????????????, on News ??????????? I really didn't expect much of it ... At least, that was my first impression, but I was wrong ... Knowing this man plays at Café d'Anvers, boring tech-house and even trance a looooong time ago. Anyway, I've been there, but I've evolved into fresh music, that is pure and honest. Okay, let's cut the crap: seems like our Sven has spent too much time chilling in his bed, this album is splendid!! I really didn't expect this, loungy stuff from the first to the las track. All equally good with a super jazzy-latin-ambient atmosphere! You all probably know the the dj from Chicago called Gemini, who makes nice deep-house, but this has nothing do to with him. This one time I'm proud to live in Belgium! If there was more music like this released in Belgium, they would probably be jealous in the States. I'm afraid there's only a limited amount of people who like this. Congratulations to NEWS. Although I'm not a supporter of those big, commercial labels that are only interested in making money, apparently there are some guys there who can appreciate good music. ( For the NEWS freaks --> they've also released a compilation CD called Transatlantik Lounging! It's got the same atmosphere as "Gemini") Well, if this is the true nature of Sven van Hees, if he only spins shitty music because the public asks for it ... I understand that you have to make a living and make sure the people stay happy. Thanks for this great album, I appreciate it! There are people who love and support this! Hurry to the shops, buy this LP, get an orange juice and like Rebel says: enjoy the sounds and grooves ... Howard (04/01/2000) |
