Radio Station History: Mrs.fatou sanyang sabally,that the radio (FMBCR)as a community radio station is established mainly for the empowerment of the Women in the region of it's location,the location being Western division in the city of the Kombo central BRIKAMA. The Radio FMB as it use to be called came into operation in the year 1996 and that the organization behind the whole institution is the Gambia Women's bereau,who have their H/Q in the capital city of Banjul in the Gambia. One main function of these branch of the bereau(women in development) is to educate inform and intertain the women in this part of the country since the name (women empowerment). The functions of the Radio goes beyond only the women's issues,it also has many more programmes;as the youths are a part of the community so they too have their quarterly shows and lots more. FMBCR;STUDIO 98.00MHZ has seven staffs and each staff is introducing a special programme pending on either his/her professionalism or the need to.It operates less than 24hrs due to limitations of resources unavalable.In these vain the has it's hands wide open to accomodate all helping hands to enable it function as a full time community Radio station.
