1. Glenn Underground : Operation Jaz House : Nite Life Collective
I hadn't heard any decent new deep-house this month, but then came GU! Who saved the day with the release of no less than 3 maxi singles in one week! 2. Groove Collective : We The People : GiantStep Amusing album filled with tracks going from acid-jazz, funk, r&b, latin and lounge music. 3. dj Food : a dub plate of dj food volume 2 : Ninja Tune Exploring the boundaries between jazz, trip-hop, dub and lounge music in four interesting tracks. 4. Glenn Underground : Society Rules : Guidance 5. Kid Spatula : Full Sunken Breaks : Planet Mu Yet another project from Mike Paradinas, the man who provided us with the best in playfull tunes and nostalgic ambient gems. Please just ignore the other "nothing-but-distortion-and-no-real-inspiration-required" tracks. |

| Abum of the month | |
|
Autechre : Amber : Warp 1994
One of their first albums, filled with more mellow electronica and less harsh beats. |
|
| Old-Skool tunes of the month | |
|
1. Marc Moulin : placebo sessions 1971-1974 : Counterpoint
(see review) 2. Tangerine Dream : Sorcerer Soundtrack : MCA 1977 For once they don't provide a soundtrack for an imaginative movie, but an existing Horror-Thriller from the 70s. Spooky atmosphere guaranteed! 3. MFSB : Love is the Message : Philadelphia International 1973 Don't ask me why, but the cheesy-funk of this band has had me hooked each and every time I found one of their albums. |
