Outspan real name: Roel Derudder a.k.a.: Rebel, Jay or Hey e-mail: outspan@iname.com |
| From Amsterdam to Brussels : contemporary fusion dynamics | |
| 1. Groove Collective
: everything is changing (swag dub) : Naked This baby has it all : old-skool b-line, vibes, brass contruction-alike-vocals. And it comes in a nice package too... 2. Afro Mystik : muzik tropique : On Fantastic cross-over samba/deep houze/r'n b/acid-jazz album. Re-invention of exotic music. 3. Boo Williams : white label : Hedphoniq A moody tempo is not what we'd expect from our fat dude. But this one's great nevertheless. Add some spacy melodies and you've got yourself a class-one Chicago product. 4. Conjoint : conjoint : km20 (See review) Ganz gutte Ambient-muzik mit mini-bitten Schokoladenmilch für kleine Kinder zwischen 0-99 Jahr. 5. Louise Vertigo : la danse du serpent : Yellow Louise combines her heavenly voice with one of the more inspired tracks by Kid Loco. The result is entrancing. 6. Unknown artist : unkown title : T-Sole Never heard of the label, don't know artist or title. Just remember that this is slo-jack deep houze in a mid-tempo, saxophone-guided, smooth and sexy outfit. Could be some six years old for all I know. 7. Tim Lee : the bhagwan love example (dub attack) : Disfunction Originally released in 1992, this track fits right into this chart since we're talking old-skool deep houze anyway. Taste it. 8. Bernard Badie : love explosion (instrumental version) : Cajual Old-skool stuff again, one of those deep Cajual products back in those times... Some advice : check instrumental versions on garage records. From time to time they turn out superb. Leave those gay voices for what they are, whatever that may be. 9. Larry Heard : after hours : Distance The founder of the Chicago school, the legend of deep house, the hero of dance music...makes a downbeat track. And I love it ! 10. Mithra Quartet : magpie : Diversion Some cool drum'n bass track with some cool female vocals results in some cool atmosphere in some small bedroom, stuffed with some more cool records. |
