 The old cinema hall
has been
temporarily transformed into a unique futuristic
Restaurant / Bar / Lounge / Terras. This is where people can meet up
after seeing a movie, have a tasty salad or enjoy the music and bring
back som life in this almost abandoned part of town. For a place
that's this big, the atmosphere is still very friendly and laidback.
Every Friday and Saturday night there are spacey and jazzy dj sets
brought by all the music freaks living in the neighbourhood of
Kortrijk.

| Sous - Sol |
 This
old chapel that is centuries old hosts one of the most open-minded
places of Belgium. Lutje, who runs the place, is an energetic and
wicked music freak. She had to fight hard against the threat of
closing down the first few years because she absolutely makes no
compromises about musical choice. Now that the Sous-Sol is THE
reference for fresh music in Ghent, the Freestyle team has visited it

Volle Maan -formerly Digi- has been around for some time. If I say
'just about everything' when it comes to music, I mean exactly that.
Live African percussion, goa trance music, distorted ambient, reggae
tunez or... fat Freestyle stuff. They change musical style as often as
the position of their turntables, who've hung in between the two
floors for a while. It doesn't get any more wicked in Kortrijk than

 In
a smokey basement, somewhere in Ostend, where the spirit of Marvin
Gaye still wanders, the old negro steps up from his table and walks to
the old piano on the stage. From then on the mood is his to choose.
From the frivolity of Freddie Hubbard's 'Always There' to the intimate
'The Dolphin' by Stan Getz. Welcome to Tati's Jazz Club. Tati, who
originates from Tunesia, reigns his scepter of creativity over this
temple of jazz. Unannounced concerts, live jams, a super-csy
atmosphere, the big smile of the waitress and Tati's endless optimism,
they all contribute to the fact that this is definitely a 'Freestyle'
